Against the backdrop of hills, the beaches of Phuket are one of the most sought after palm-fringed tropical destinations in the world and it’s easy to see why – powder soft sand, clear water, reefs within swimming distance.

There are countless beaches in Phuket, ranging from the hugely popular (and crowded) Patong, Kata and Karon beaches to the more secluded Nai Han Beach on the southern tip or Kamala on the west coast. We recommend visiting the beaches on the northern half of Phuket (and closer to Villa Sundara), as they are much quieter and remain unspoilt.

Phuket is paradise for spa lovers and boasts world class spas offering luxurious and rejuvenating body and facial treatments, aromatic steam baths, expert massages and yoga classes. If you feel like leaving the Villa for a treatment, there are several nearby options. Please contact your concierge.

Phuket is home to some of the most renowned golf clubs in the world, including the award-winning Blue Canyon Country Club, Mission Hills Golf Resort and Red Mountain Golf Course. Each has it’s own particular challenges, and all are set against stunning natural backdrops.

You can try out many different water sports in Phuket – catch a breeze while windsurfing, go sailing or kayaking and explore nearby beaches and islands or go diving and snorkeling in the crystal clear waters of the Andaman. The coastal waters are especially rich in shoals of brightly colored fish and exotic coral formations.

Why not take a day to explore the Similan Islands, a national park that contains beautiful unspoilt islands and forests and some of the most renowned and well- preserved coral reefs in the world. Consistently ranked as one of the top ten dive locations in the world, there are over 20 documented dive sites and you’ll see countless colourful tropical fish and possibly even a manta or whale shark.
